The retired peanut farmer, 93, has been less vocal than other former commanders in chief about the goings-on in the White House, but in a recent interview with The Washington Post, Carter seared Trumps policies and character.
I think hes a disaster In human rights and in treating people equal, the 39th president said before his wife, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, 91, jumped in. The worst is that he is not telling the truth, and that just hurts everything, she added.
Cohen implicated Trump in a federal crime when the lawyer admitted to a federal judge that, at Trumps direction, he made payments to two women who claimed they had affairs with Trump for the purpose of influencing the election. (Trump has denied the affairs with porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal.)
Carter told the Post he prizes honesty in part because when he attended the U.S. Naval Academy, students were expelled for telling even the smallest lie. And in Carters eyes, Trumps relationship with the truth does not hold up. I think theres been an attitude of ignorance toward the truth by President Trump, Carter said....

As Kim Jung Un would say “A Dotard.” NOUN an old person, especially one who has become physically weak or whose mental faculties have declined; an oldster in his dotage; someone whose age has impaired his intellect; a weak-minded or foolish old person.
I don’t remember Jimmy Carter telling the Clintons to give back all their filthy lucre from the Clinton Foundation scam. Only 5% of the money went to the intended beneficiaries, the rest went to pay salaries of Clinton hangers-on, Chelsea’s wedding and Hillary’s iron lung.
Hey Jimmah- how many hostages did you get back from Iran again? Yeah- thought so- you are in NO position to criticize anyone sir- Go build some houses or something-
Jimmah, the second worst president in my lifetime, still doesn’t realize he’s little more than a punchline.
We really should pay attention here. Jimmy Carter is an EXPERT on disaster.
Jimmy, If we really gave a damn about what you think, you would have been re-elected.
‘nuff said.
Pot shots from the peanut gallery.
He has plenty of character flaws. But his character shines in one way that is almost non-existent in DC these day. He has the same priorities in DC as he did on the campaign trail. How many other “representatives” can say the same thing? How many lie to “the people” about their policies and priorities the entire election season?
Honesty with “the people” is an aspect of character that is REALLY important to me. And it’s in very short supply in DC.
Carter must be looking in the mirror when said he was a “disaster”.
I guess a 21.5% prime interest rate wasnt a disaster. Idiot.
I met his brother once and I totally agree.
I bet teddys daddy did for sure.
Jimmy, my dad said compared to Obama you are great, but you’re no Trump...jealous?
“What is he, on a bad day?”
A Jimmy Carter.
Jimmah Cahtah is remembered for 21 1/2 percent interest and gas lines...
I will take a man of deplorable character who creates the lowest unemployment ever and a rolling economy, over a saint (not saying Carter is a saint, but just to make a point) who oversees massive unemployment, double digit inflation, energy embargos, and foreign affairs castrations
