I would bet McCain had nothing to do with the writing of this ‘memoir’ except for authorizing the use of his name.
Even if he didn’t actually write a word of it, based on excerpts, the author captured the John McCain we’ve come to know over the past few years. A bitter, spiteful, pathetic old man who was never particularly bright to begin with ... but he was born to Navy royalty and managed to “marry well” after abandoning the wife who waited faithfully for him through his long Viet Cong imprisonment.
