U.S. Senator John McCain rebukes President Donald Trump in a new memoir, accusing his fellow Republican of failing to uphold U.S. values by showering praise on international tyrants, discrediting the media, ignoring human rights and demeaning refugees.
Flattery secures his friendship, criticism his enmity, wrote McCain in The Restless Wave, which he co-authored with longtime aide Mark Salter.
It is hard to know what to expect from President Trump, whats a pose, whats legitimate, McCain said in the book that is due to be released on May 22. An advance copy was sent to Reuters by publisher Simon & Schuster.
McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, remains one of the strongest voices in his party on foreign policy, despite a battle with brain cancer. He has been credited with championing civility and compromise in Congress during an era of acrid partisanship in U.S. politics.
The 81-year-old Arizona lawmaker, who has served in the Senate since 1987, has also been both a critic and target of Trump, who during his 2016 presidential campaign disparaged McCains war record by saying he was not a hero after enduring 5-1/2 years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam....

The interesting part I find in this McCain business is Trump is holding his fire and not going after McCain. It’s like Trump is trying to be nice to him in his dying days. It’s too bad McCain (known as one of the Keating 5 who should be in jail for that Savings and Loan scandal) doesn’t just quietly go away.

I think he is about ready because he has been full of it for a while now.
What proof do we have that McStain really has glioblastoma? Let’s see the imaging!
The Keating 5 Scandal - Thousands of people lost their homes and life savings so that McCain could put a few $million in his pocket - great values.
Id buy the memoir penned by McCains tumor.
That tumor is about as effective as AG Jeff Sessions.
Flattery secures my friendship, criticism my enmity, wrote McCain. It’s probably something he learned from his captors.
Ok, i will do it. DIE! DIRTBAG! DIE! The sooner, the better. There.
Sounds like (it should be) the FORWARD to the book.
What he really meant was...McCain values...nothing whatsoever to do with US values.
McCain thinks he is a great leader...there is a word for that.
He has really worked hard to get info the same class as Jane Fonda and John Kerry.
Until right now, I hadnt really placed much importance on, or given much thought to all the hoopla about President Trump and the Nobel Peace Prize, but now I hope and pray that John McCain lives long enough to see him WIN IT!!!
LOL
PERFECT
