Republican congressmen Trey Gowdy joins former Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Rep. John Ratcliffe to reflect on the last year in Congress on FNC's 'The Ingraham Angle.'
Gowdy, as the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said he strongly supports Paul Ryan as Speaker but his fellow South Carolinian Sen. Tim Scott is the "best person in politics."
"He and I are virtually inseparable," Gowdy said. Gowdy and Scott are currently co-writing a book about their "unlikely" friendship. "We have different views on some pretty serious issues, but we have just chosen to have a friendship some would call unlikely because we are more interested in the conciliation than we are the conflict," Gowdy said about Scott.
"Contrast is fine," Gowdy added. "I'm glad we don't all pull for the Cowboys, I'm glad we don't all go watch the same movie at the same time, but the contrast has morphed into conflict. And what I hear almost everywhere I go is this sense of angst, this divisiveness."
"We are the United States of America, so I would love for us to spend almost as much time celebrating what we have in common as we do harping on the differences," he concluded.

Exactly per your comment. It’s time for the RIGHT to MANDATE a few things of the mostly illegal federal government instead of the other way around.
We don’t want “conciliation” with an 80% unconstitutional government. We MANDATE that the unconstitutional 80% portion of the federal government be dismantled and the feds put back into their constitutional cage.
A government that has submitted to and reconciled with our Constitution - that will bring a lot of conciliation, as well as freedom and prosperity, in this country.
He's had way more gooberish haircuts than that, which accentuated his Zippy the Pinhead cranium better.
Though I do like the blinky, staring thing he's got goin' in that one. If he weren't so articulate, I'd swear I saw him in "The Hills Have Eyes."
No reply as of yet.
Appreciate the effort.
I'm sure her staff is all over it.
Nope, we do not compromise with communists Gowdy.
Unity and peace will happen when they are exposed and defeated.
There’s definitely better pics, but there are very few gifs of him. That one is my favorite.
The message I was trying to imply with it is that he is staring at you deadpan style for making fun of his little goober head :D
Ashley Wilkes of the Carolinas.
Hes not in touch with reality. There is no hunger for unity. The left needs to be destroyed! Period!
It was so bad that it almost made me toss the dinner I was eating.
I really cannot think of words base enough to describe what I think of these people.
Rep. Trey Gowdy: There Is A Hunger For Conciliation And Unity In This Country
...
No there isn’t. Drain the swamp or else. Democrats and the GOPe must be defeated.
Better Hatch than Romney.
Gowdy has been a major disappointment, appease the RATS, he talks a big game, but its mostly whistling in the wind.
The only truth is God's revealed Word. There will be no conciliation away from that.
The only unity is around God's revealed Word.
We will not hate people who stand against this - but we will not join hands with them in their depravity either.
What differences on policy does he have with senator Scott? Anyone throwing in with Chaffetz the fraud, I have no respect for. Guess any lingering illusion that Gowdy would give a **** about justice just fell to the wayside. What a d***
The same is true with America's political enemies. I want the rule of law restored. I want FedGov cut back to its enumerated powers. I do not want unity with those who want me enslaved (that is what it is called when you are forced to work against your will and in violation of deeply held beliefs, as with the victims of Oregon's Labor Board) or dead (the natural result of law-abiding Americans being disarmed by the anti-gun left). There are people dumb enough to fall for the "unity" mantra that always arises from the media and others on the far left when republicans are in power, but I'm not that guy:
Here I thought you were just trying to show an example of the goober head syndrome.
Forgive me for challenging the master. My gung fu does not include pics or gif style.
On a related note, I would hate to sit in the chair under oath and have Gooberhead Gowdy chew my ass. Please don't tell him I laughed at his goofy gooberhead.
He is lethal.
Democrats don’t want conciliation. They want to control everybody or else. The don’t care about unity or compromise. They want one party rule, and I think a lot of republicans want the same.
Congressmen. Is there anything they don’t know?
