John McCain doesn’t really believe in all these things he keeps endorsing. He knows that Donald Trump has come out on some position, so in almost mindless reactionary fury, McCain immediately takes the contrary position. Just like killing the option of even voting on the repeal of Obamacare, that was a sheer spite vote, tipping things into oblivion.
Mean growling dog in the manger, keeping the horses from being able to eat.

I’m not faulting Trump for his comment re: McCain’s POW status but I can appreciate that McCain will react to anything Trump does with a mindless fury and vindictiveness.
