Disappointing if true, but WaPo is the originating source, so may be fake.

I can’t see Trump leaving at the end of his term(s) without having built the wall. I believe it is congress and whomever it is most of them work for who will end up being disappointed

People, especially these mainstream media organizations, will continue to ignore the long game aspect of Trumps character and of his success.

George H. W. Bush learned what happens when a President outright lies to the American people. I doubt Donald Trump will make that mistake.

The Wall, Obamacare, Tax Cuts, Infrastructure, and DACA are signature Trump agenda items. Congress isn’t a partner in any of them. It’s the most pathetic political malpractice by the GOP of my lifetime.

Gov’t shutdown has not been an effective strategy. Better to continue building public frustration with Congress and resolve it at the ballot box.

I thought the government’s fiscal year started October 1?

The intention is still there. It will happen...some things take time.

Exactly. Amnesty Ryan and Chamber of Commerce McConnell are building a huge anti-incumbent wave. And they’re chambers are on the ballot. Trump is not.

I do believe Trump intends to built it, but I wish he would not make threats he doesn’t intend to back up.
He did that the other week to Kim in North Korea.
Kim fires a missile over Guam (one of our territories!!) and near Japan. Nothing has been done in retaliation except more sanctions. Eventually, a diplomatic solution will probably be the answer. Meanwhile, Trump should stop issuing ultimatums that are not being fulfilled.
In the long run, I may be completely wrong about that. Hope that I am.
I hope he’s not doing it now.
If congress knows they lose nothing by obstructing, they won’t ever change.

Same story with ‘withholding federal funding’ to Sanctuary Cities. Many cities have continued on with their Sanctuary, just tuning out anything Sessions may be muttering about that week. No one expects him to actually hold that line and the funding. The states are certain they can Judge-Shop for someone who will ‘overrule’ or indefinitely suspend any such penalty.

Relax. It will get built. They are strenthing our southern border as we speak. Influx of illegals are down drastically. They just gave contracts for prototypes. Once NAFTA is gutted, Mexico will pay for it. MAGA.

McMaster has nothing to do with DHS. Neither does Ivanka or Kushner. Stop with this nonsense. MAGA.

PLUS... funding was already approved for the border wall. Those funds weren’t used. Trump knows he has enough to get started and can wait to get the additional funds LATER.

If this is true he better have alternative funding in mind. He has said unequivocally there will be a wall. He also said in AZ he will shut down the Government if it doesn’t get funding. No fudging this it would be a blatant betrayal of what he told everyone a week ago. We know everyone he has surrounded himself with is pushing to stop the wall. This could be his no new taxes moment.

The missile wasn’t fired at Guam. NK is being handled. Sanctuary cities are currently suing the DOJ. They won’t win, but we will.

Here’s a thought, and I’m completely serious. If Congress refuses to fund it, Trump should get the public to crowd fund it, go right over Congress. Even if we can only fund bits at a time. FWIW, I think a rousing response with Americans putting their voluntarily given dollars where their mourhs are would scare the excrement out of Vongress.
