Donald Trump won DESPITE OUR INSIDIOUS EFFORTS HERE AT NATIONAL REVIEW TO STOP HIS CANDIDACY because he recognized the nature of that class war and appealed to those who were being hurt by it.

In addition to their wars on law abiding firearms owners, free speech, consumer choice...

Yeah, it's sort of treacherous, but you know what..?

I simply write a conservative-sounding piece periodically and those idiots just eat it RIGHT up..!

I remember hearing Fund on the Steve Malzberg radio show in 2007. He said the Republicans need to pass the “immigration reform bill”, because when Hillary becomes president in 2008 she will pass full amnesty.

He said the Republicans need to pass the “immigration reform bill”, because when Hillary becomes president in 2008 she will pass full amnesty.

As though a half-measure from the RINOs would even slow down the b1+ch queen.

She would merely say the "reform" only "pointed the way" to what was the "right side of history."

But is does conclusively prove that Fund has 100% RINO comprehension.

Wish people would stop trying to wise up the Dems. One of these days they’re bound to listen and get it right.

I read the article. Not a negative word about Trump or the GOP. Very, very negative on the Dems prospect for recovering from their 2016 defeat.

Fund wrote quite the good article. Pretty much aligned with your average Freepers view of things.

Well... the Fabian Socialists used to argue that it is good to support opposition parties when they attempt to expand government power, because some day the socialists would get elected and they were going to need power.

Everyone is right. John Fund is a hack

I have John Fund and the Wall Street Journal to thank for waking me up.

Thirty one years ago in 1986, coincidentally while living and working in Huntington West Virginia, I was reading an article in the Journal about all the wonderful benefits of the Simpson-Mazzoli amnesty bill and I couldn't understand how he could be so foolish. Clearly, any idiot could see that the coming amnesty bill would hurt the country and be especially bad for American workers by depressing their wages - but somehow the WSJ was not seeing that. And then it hit me like a 2x4 between the eyes -- he wasn't being foolish, he was lying to me!

Up to that point I completely trusted the Journal to be an honest purveyor of "the news" but with my eyes now open it was obvious that he (and they) were simply doing their job and that job was to move "the agenda." It took me a while to figure out what that agenda was and who they were driving it for but I thank John Fund, globalist hack and faux-journalist of the NWO cabal for writing that piece of trash article that was so far out of line that even a deluded, public school educated idiot like me could see through it.

"I read the article...."

That's cheating. Don't you know, the hip thing to do nowadays at FR is act like you are more pure than... well... everybody else, as far as I can tell. Limbaugh, Levin, Sessions, Cruz, Lee, etc have all been dismissed by some here.

The utter lack of reason being applied to discussions is sometimes so thorough that I can't decide whether it is subversion or disease at play.

John Fund is reporting. Quite accurately, by the way. Which is rare. He is NOT a leader of any party. Even so, his thinking is clearer and his rightward leanings are more consistent than those of many here.

For Pete's sake, just last month Fund raked McCain over the coals (and McCain's press office, the NYT, as well) for essentially being a fraud.

A mere couple weeks after laying out, in his wonderfully succinct and unpretentious style, the gaping hypocrisy and BleachBitten memory of the media regarding the only truly scandalous case of foreign collusion in our time: The Clintons and the Chi-comms. Literally, money from the Chinese military into their campaign. And much, much more. He mentions Hill's uranium yard sale too.

What on earth possesses people here to drop their hold on all reason and reach for the tar and feathers at the drop of a pretty damn conservative hat?

Cult of personality certainly might explain some of it, though it's not something I'm qualified to diagnose, really.

A ridiculously obtuse guilt-by-association regarding anybody from a site that hosts a very wide range of viewpoints? Definitely that's part of it.

Drunk on unprecedented winning maybe?

Driven stark raving mad by poor FR site performance?

Who knows?

Two things are clear, though, to others who have cheated like you and read the article and the comments:

1) John Fund is right in the article we are discussing here today.

2) Nobody seems to disagree, but most here hate him and that's more important.

Maybe the guy who runs FR, who does seems quite able to reason from what I've seen, could create a new type of virtual soap box for such better-than-thou venting. Perhaps it is therapeutic at some level for certain folks, I don't know.

But I do miss what seemed like a higher percentage of reasoned comments in years past.

As do I. But then again creating a reasoned comment in a single sentence after failing to read past an article title is a daunting task.

But that is 90% or more of what is dished up by Freepers these days. As for me: I don’t read those one-liners and I don’t post them.

So thanks for your support for my position on Fund, at least this article by Fund. I greatly appreciate it.

.... and finding no welcome mat from the GOP(Globalist Oligarchy Party). The Globalist Oligarchs have no use for the American middle class blue collar types. They hate them. Sad. F the GOP.

Guilt-by-association? No. John Fund's own words have in the past proven that he is a liar. You believing any words of a liar is foolish and saying that we should value what he is saying in this article because he is not actually at this actual moment lying is not real smart.

"...90% or more of what is dished up by Freepers these days..."

I've been called ridiculously inaccurate and immature things for my goose apparently being out of step, at times - if you know what I mean.

I'm a sticks and stones kinda guy, generally, and could probably not care too much less about that without stronger medication.

But I do worry about our side, at times.

Are the boundaries of Trump-only Safe Spaces being laid around us here? Is there a new form of class warfare defined by what date you fell in love with Trump and by how many generally decent conservatives you can keep from being recognized as late or partial supporters/converts to Trumpism ?

I mean, is FR evolving into RF (Reason-Free) where admission requires proof of your race-ial purity delineated by a no-questions support in the early primaries?

I'm too dang old to find my way back to college, but at times I feel like the campus has found me.

To be clear, I'm questioning some of his supporters, not the man himself. Trump knows how to grow the brand and is wise enough to understand that winning converts from lost sheep, through logic and results should be the most satisfying and vision-based kind of winning.

Certainly Trump is a type of savior any reasoned analysis would show, believer or not.

I wonder how many believers consider the real Savior's mission? He certainly was critical of the establishment of His party - Jews/Israel. But He definitely would not refuse the forgiveness of or at all discourage enthusiasm of late-comers. Quite the opposite. In fact, He gave us a parable denouncing the sin of jealous minds which might think later comers should be less rewarded than folks on the job earlier.

Not only His thinking and preaching were to the contrary of first-comers-only jealousy, His actions proved it as well.

Ask Paul, the greatest evangelist ever. And former/stubborn anti-Trumper (analogously) who, rather than being shunned by Christ, was actually drafted onto the team from the evil establishment.

Because He understands the incredible value of converting otherwise well-meaning and productive, knowledgeable folks.
