U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz will be in East Texas on Friday, touring local businesses and taking part in a roundtable discussion at Tyler Junior College.
“East Texas is home to many hardworking Texans and job creators that contribute significantly to the engine of Texas’ economy,” Phil Novack, a spokesman for the senator, said. “Sen. Cruz looks forward to visiting with folks in Kilgore and Tyler, listening to their concerns and discussing solutions that will help create jobs and spur economic growth for the region.”
At 10 a.m., Cruz will tour the Skeeter Boats manufacturing facility in Kilgore. At 11:30 a.m., he will tour the TJC Rogers Center and take part in a roundtable.
And at 1:30 p.m., Cruz will tour Brookshire Grocery Company and speak to employees. He will take questions from the media following his tour of Brookshire's.
Cruz was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. Prior to that, Cruz served as solicitor general for the state of Texas from 2003 to 2008.

Nice of the Great Cruz to visit the state he represents. I mean he actually had to take a plane, first class I am sure, and rub elbows with the rubes that gave him his ability to enrich himself into a millionaire.
Ted Cruz has been one of the few senators reliably supporting Pres Trump’s agenda almost item for item.

I would expect the rude responses from Democrats. As a citizen of Washington state...I can only dream of the day when we have a Senator as good as Ted Cruz.
So Texas contractors are complaining they can’t find any construction workers. Are there any unemployed construction workers in surrounding states who would be interested in working?
I agree there is no reason to attack Sen. Cruz, unlike Sen. McCain, Ted Cruz loves this country and has supported President Trump since he lost his bid for the presidency.
They are in recess more then they work for US.

I see our Senators a couple of times a year, and if I knew they were going to be there, I would have made other plans. So, maybe it is good that Ted lets people know he is coming.
He wants that SCOTUS job.
Not really and doesn’t make up for his lies and worse. Lyn’ Ted should quit or be primaried. He lied to Texas, lied to Americans, and is, well, Lyn’ Ted.
Where do we deport Lyn’ Ted to? He’s not Texan, not American, do we send him back to birthplace Canada or to Cuba?
If Cruz has any respect for Texans he will accept he is not legally able to become President.
He can run against Trudeau if he wants to be a President. As he sure as Hell cant be one here
