What good are Republicans? We should know all of this by now.

Yes. Both parties are deeply flawed and compromised.
The last big election forced me to acknowledge this.
Maybe the GOP tendencies of self defeat, inhibition and lying to constituents were always there, but not to the degree we find it today.
