WASHINGTON (AP) -- A pair of moderate Republicans who'd been holdouts against the GOP health care bill said Wednesday they were now backing the high-profile legislation after winning President Donald Trump's support for their proposal for reviving the languishing measure.

The conversions of Reps. Fred Upton, R-Mich., and Billy Long, R-Mo., could breathe new life into the sagging Republican push to deliver their long-standing promise repeal former President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Upton and others said they believed the House could pass the legislation Thursday....

Why do they call Billy Long a moderate? He comes from a pretty conservative part of Missouri, IIRC.

Amending is not repealing.

This GOP circus is sad. It is time for BOTH Ryan and McConnel to leave. Pathetic leaders. Better than the democrats, but barely.

Upton is the rino punk who killed the light bulb. If he’s back on the + side l fear what it took to sweeten the pot for the precious “moderates”. I figured Trump ate the CR crap sandwich so this bill would pass but despite his entire agenda getting spit on the bill still hangs by a thread. Meanwhile that piece of crap McConnel is posing with Scmuckie bragging about the CR victory. It’s sickening.

This new bill is much better than Ryancare.

And now that the shutdown talk is over and the CR conveniently expires right at the end of the Fiscal Year under Obama, Mulvaney can factor in the savings in the new Trump budget and work to finish off Obamacare later and add tax reform too.

Trump is already pivoting back to getting rid of Obamacare while Schumer and Pelosi celebrate their Pyrrhic CR victory.

Conservatives need to be patient and understand that Trump is a long-term strategist and that his priorities will ultimately be met.

The CR means nothing. It expires in 5 months.

In September, Trump will present a brand new budget to the nation and the process will return to normal. There'll be no more CRs.

“There’ll be no more CRs.”

I hate being a pessimist but we have heard that before but I hope you’re right because the CR was an insult to Trump and us.

We will have a long term “shut down” if needed.

All essential services continue to be funded .... and the executive branch decides what’s essential and what’s not.

It’s a yuuuge win. Save buckets of cash, avoid paying for things we hate, do pay for things we want.

Frankly I’m stuned the Dems don’t see this coming...if they do, they’re going to be giving in bigly to avoid it.

JMHO
