From your article I clicked on one of the links to another story. It showed the reactions of various members of congress during Trump’s speech. It was pretty funny. You can definitely see Nasty’s plastic face mouthing, “Boooooo” as she shakes her Botoxed bobble head back and forth.

First signs of her being right just today...Trump starting to dip his toe into “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”.
All I can say is that he better be VERY, VERY, CAREFUL, for if he loses the base on this issue, NO ONE will have his back, when the Democrats move in for the kill (impeachment).
Right now, the Republicans in Congress, much to their discontent (in most cases) are FORCED to support Trump and with that, Trump is protected. But the only reason they are forced to support Trump, is us, THE MASSES, who will never support the Republican Party again, should elected Republicans team with Democrats to remove Trump.
...but should Trump TURN ON US, with immigration being the most likely issue where that happens, then we will be fed up with Trump, and the Republicans can then dispense with him, with little or no political damage to themselves.
We do give Trump a lot of room, but we also DID NOT elect him to bring the Gang-of-Eight back from the dead.
...time will tell.

Having said the above, this article points out that Trump is not heading in the Gang-of-Eight direction, at least not yet...so hopefully my worrying is a bit premature.
