Full-page ads created by a Democratic activist are urging Electoral College members to vote against President-elect Donald Trump on Monday.
The ads, which began running in newspapers across the country Wednesday, are funded by Daniel Brezenoff, who made a Change.org petition urging electors not to vote for Trump.
He told Politico the ad is not aimed at choosing Clinton or a specific Republican alternative to Trump but intended to inspire electors to use their own judgment before voting.
There are times in the life of a nation when extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary measures, the ad reads. Now is such a time, and your courage and leadership are required.
The ad, which encouraged Republican electors to vote their conscious, appeared in the Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Austin American-Statesman, Salt Lake City Tribune and Tampa Bay Times. The ad will also appear on Thursday in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Wisconsin State Journal. All of the newspapers listed aside from The Washington Post primarily serve communities in states that turned red on Nov. 8.
"You, Electors, possess the power to prevent this outcome," the ad reads. "You are not bound to cast your vote for the candidate of your party and, as he won neither a majority nor even a plurality of the popular vote, there can be no question of undermining the will of The People."
The 538 electors will gather around the country on Monday to vote.
On Nov. 8, Trump won 306 electoral votes and Hillary Clinton got 232. For Trump to lose the presidency, 37 Republican electors would have to switch their vote on Dec. 19.
The chances of that happening are very unlikely.
Only one GOP elector, Chris Suprun from Texas, has vowed not to vote for Trump.
Suprun has claimed other GOP electors are planning not to vote for Trump either, but virtually all GOP electors contacted by The Hill have said they would vote for Trump.
Yeah,in mid December. Yikes..
The ads urge republicans to “vote their conscience”. Who else said that ? TED CRUZ!
He said that to voters, they’re saying it to chosen electors. You do understand the difference, don’t you?
Wonder what the next plan is if this one doesn’t work.
You know they have about a dozen things to try.
If they truly think Trump SUCKS and will fail, why won’t they just sit back and LET it happen?
If he is as horrible as they say, Dems will win EVERYTHING in a landslide in the next election.
Any potential “faithless” Pub Electors know that Trump will be Prez even if there were enough of them to try to throw the election. Aside from any retribution from the Trump Admin itself, they would be ostracized within their Pub Party organizations, would be politically doomed from running for any political office if they were so inclined, and would be shunned within their more than likely conservative communities that they live within. Let’s see how many of these Electors want to deal with these long-term consequences.
Sounds like sedition to me
Who reads a newspaper anymore?
This is great. No longer to you have to shell-out money at a county carnival to attend the freak show. The LIBs/DIMs and other lunatics are putting-on quite a show. I laugh at their desperation and at their angst. I hope they experience this for the rest of their malignant and worthless lives.
Who is funding Daniel Brezenoff? Three . . . Two . . . One . . .
George Soros through, Communist, Van Jones, future candidate for president for the Green Party.
Oh come on. Do you really want to prosecute someone for buying a newspaper ad? #FirstAmendment
If they are trying to over throw the government yes
...”imagine the MSM response if the GOP had put out ads like this in 2008 and 2012
cries of racism? at a minimum
sedition? definition
treason? of course”...
And, what the left is attempting to do may, indeed, be racism, sedition and treason. I suspect we will soon find out who can be bought off. I certainly hope they will be few, for, a nation that corrupt is not going to stand for long. Good people will draw a line in the sand at some point and these blatant attempts to overturn our system will not be tolerated.
“He told Politico the ad is not aimed at choosing Clinton”
Yeah, sure.
Electors also vote, thus are voters:
“Are there restrictions on who the Electors can vote for?
“There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires Electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their states. Some states, however, require Electors to cast their votes according to the popular vote. . . .”

Full page newspaper ads, how quaint. They should try Singing Telegrams, skywriting “Surrender Electors” and free ViewMaster reels next,
Jan 20 is going to hit these lunatics like a ton of bricks.
I sense another big win!
I guess he is trying to get to the top of the List if this Elector crap actually happened.
The Walking Dead isn’t just a TV Show. Just sayin’
Tough toenails... You have to win now along with the rest of us.
Are they normally unconscious?? LOL!
Hope it backfires real good.
