Illinois is probably another state where once you get out of the big megapolitan areas (Chicago being the case here), Trump is probably very competitive and maybe even ahead of Hillary. Illinois is HEAVILY Republican once you get out of Chicago. Chicago Democrats run this state. They dominate the Illinois House & Senate because Chicago has most of the state's population (unfortunately.)
