Glad to know David French took time to reflect and contemplate before making his “momentous” decision to decline a run for the presidency. Kristol is a laughingstock. He probably asked every RINO he knew to run for president but all they declined, so he scraped the bottom of the RINO barrel and came up with David French. This is why the GOP is floundering. The RINOS running it can’t do anything on the fly and this ludicrous attempt by Kristol to find an independent candidate proves that fact.

He is a smart guy and a very connected guy in the GOP. He has been a made-member of the Bush crime family for decades. His ideological inclinations may not be my cup of tea, but I respect his IQ.

Smart? IQ?

To turn a phrase: Smart is as smart does

On that basis Kristol is a dunce.

NR's own Eliana Johnson tells the back story here:

By late May, it was clear Romney would not jump in, and others — Mattis, Sasse, and former Oklahoma senator Tom Coburn — had also declined to run. Last Thursday, almost coincidentally, French, who was then in New York, boarded a train with the conservative donor John Kingston, a longtime friend, to have dinner with Kristol in Washington, D.C.
