It doesn't make anybody less of a person for apologizing when they've said something wrong. A dogmatic refusal to apologize does not sit well with me.
Donald Trump had better get a lot more serious thatn he has been thus far. I know he's accomplished a lot, but I think he could be far ahead of where he is now if he just ran an overall smarter, more thoughtful campaign.
Honestly, IMHO (and you know I've been a STAUNCH supporter of Trump's), he has been running a haphazard campaign thus far. He's underachieved. He's going to have to up his game significantly if he wants to win a landslide. There are no sure things in life, besides death and taxes.
What I mean is that Donald Trump has barely scratched the surface of his potential to appeal to the electorate. He could be miles ahead of where he is already if he simply exercised more civility and didn't hold onto grudges, for instance.
And I have to agree with critics like New Gingrich when he said Trump needs to "knock it off" with some things. Gratuitous insults to a veteran, POW, and former GOP Presidential candidate is one of those things. I dislike McCain myself, but for his politics, not his military service record.
Donald Trump would win this election hands down, if he could just listen to some of the advice of his closest advisors. Again, I say that he's run a far from perfect campaign, and if he wins while performing at his current sub-optimal level, I think he'll be fortunate.
Vote Trump!
Whether Trump apologizes or not, I agree that of all of the criticisms of McCain, for his military service or experience as POW are wrong. He is and will always remain a hero. Now, as politician, not so good, definitely not a hero to me. In the bigger picture I am bothered by the concern trolls, media, and folks like Dole, that are lining up lists of people for Trump to apologize to. Ain’t happening.
