"Play-by-the-rules" Ted. What a hero to those who wish to break apart the system that selects presidential candidates.

Oh wait... Ted is USING the rules to sabotage the frontrunner. Therefore... he is using THE RULES for his own benefit.

And his supporters are perfectly fine with playing-by-the-rules. What genuine OUTSIDERS they are, standing for the everyday American.

Nazi played by the rules in Germany too and look what happened to the world and finally found to those who followed those rules.

The GOP kept their dirt better hidden than the Dems until now. The Dems are corrupt and don’t care who knows. The GOP has deceived us and that makes them liars as well. Must be some great benefits in losing the Presidency repeatedly, winning Congress and then doing the will of Obama.

Y'know... this refrain really boggles my mind, when I hear it from Trump fans. When Trump "plays the rules", his supporters cheer his shrewdness; when someone else does the same thing, Trump fans snarl and call it hypocrisy, treason, underhanded, etc., etc., etc. The inconsistency is enough to make my teeth ache

As another FReeper put it to Trump fans on this point: "Just call it 'The Art of the Deal', and maybe you'll feel better about it!"

And his supporters are perfectly fine with playing-by-the-rules. What genuine OUTSIDERS they are, standing for the everyday American.

I realize that this is one of the most popular memes with the pro-Trump crowd... but it really makes no sense. Trump is for Trump... period... and he's more than happy to let millions of Americans (and others) project their fond wishes and dream onto him (no matter how badly they fit).

Why is it that so many people start clapping and fawning when Trump SAYS that he's for the "everyman"? I can count on one hand the number of politicians who DON'T claim that!

If he decides to bankrupt a company because he feels it's the "shrewd and advantageous thing to do", then he does it (and to blazes with the people who're out of jobs as a result--at least Trump will be able to move on, eh?). If he wants to take property from "everyday Americans" in order to build new property expansions, he'll do it. Forget that he speaks in generalizations and platitudes which match those of Bernie Sanders (albeit with a different flavor), and has shown no clear understanding of HOW to accomplish these many political promises in the new venue (i.e. national executive branch); the fact the he's a "businessman who gets things done" (whatever that means) is apparently the "magic bullet" by which he'll magically get the ability to turn the streets gold and "make America great again" by sheer force of his scintillating and crass personality. I suppose lots of Trump fans will whoop it up like the next WWE event, if Trump were to insult some foreign power with his characteristic "rough and ready talk". It makes me wonder if some people really and truly can't distinguish reality from "reality" TV...

"Therefore... he is using THE RULES for his own benefit."

It seems that's what Mr. Trump did with eminent domain and the bankruptcy laws.
