The bottom line is what penalty does Hillary pay and how is this equal treatment under the law compared to what happened to former CIA director Petraeus?

That's the problem with pardons. They fly in the face of equal treatment under the law.

IMHO, the Founders made a mistake by giving the President the king-like power of issuing pardons. At a minimum, the Senate should be able to veto a Presidential pardon, perhaps by a 2/3 vote.

Agree. Of course a pardon would kill her chances of being the nominee or being elected depending upon when it was given.
