you forget the stark fact that Cruz cannot beat Hillary - not now, not tomorrow, not next year. And he’d get slaughtered up against Birdy Bernie. Can you imagine, after a 3 day absence, Cruz tweeting against Hillary - mental eval - release! as he did to Trump? Hillary eats lawyers for lunch.
And they're not discussing the other new (Optimus) poll with over 6000 respondents and only a 1.14% MOE, which had Donald Trump ahead of Ted Cruz by 4%, a lead which is outside the MOE?

The GOPe will not kill the Republican party at the convention by denying Trump and then just hand the nomination to Cruz— not in a million years. The GOPe knows that going to a contested convention will let insiders keep their perks and privileges, but they are also aware that, for all intents and purposes, the Republican party as a viable political entity will be over for the foreseeable future. They are willing to blow up the party, but they will not then give the Presidency, the big prize, to that upstart from Texas that they all loathe. They are using Cruz, period. When his usefulness to the party is over, they will discard him. Anybody who thinks that Cruz has the slightest chance to be President is kidding themselves. It will be Trump or it will be a GOPe stooge, period.

The Cruz gang is in la-la land. There will not be a Cruz administration.
If Cruz manages to screw things up for Trump, he will screw things up for everyone except of course the GOP establishment, who is cheering him on big time.
Cruz needs to wake up, get with it and stand down.
He can run again. He is young, and inspired, and has a pretty good amount of support.
But he’s not going to be president this time around.
That is not happening. Period.
