To be or not to be an American first, that is the question that Karen MacBeth had to ask herself. She chose to be an American first. Welcome to the party, we’re happy to have you.
I shall reserve judgement, pending my own due diligence .
Karen probably realizes that the GOP is going to be running things for a while and she’d like to get some key legislation passed instead of having it die in committee.
I thought that was I pig I saw flying past my house.
At the state level in Rhode Island, I wonder if there is a money advantage in being a member of one party over the other.
A sane liberal in Rhode Island? “Hold on Emma, I feel a big one coming on” (Red Foxx).
As a former RI resident I applaud her courage. RI is 95% demoncrat. She has probably just thrown away her political career. I left the State and never looked back.
Ah a new RINO queen. She’ll probably back Kasich.
“I feel that its become a party of politicians...”
Yup.
Good job and welcome to the party of the people.
"All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, State Representative!"
"All hail, Macbeth, hail to thee, House Oversight Chairwoman!"
"All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be a Republican hereafter!"
“Karen probably realizes that the GOP is going to be running things for a while and shed like to get some key legislation passed instead of having it die in committee.”
In Rhode Island? LOL. No, Republicans won’t be running the RI state l
legislature anytime soon.
She switched because she’s going to run for Congress as a Republican against gay, corrupt ultraliberal Democrat David Cicilline (pronounced Sissy-Lean). I don’t know how conservative this Lady MacBeth is, but she’d certainly be an upgrade over Cicilline in a normally unwinnable district for us in a presidential year.
Exactly. Usually a very crowded field in Democrat Primary whereas at times the Republicans can not find enough candidates to fill all of the slots.
I threw Cicillini out of my backyard once when he was in my neighborhood campaigning for Mayor.
I wish Sissyface was in the 2nd district instead, he’d likely have lost already.
Maybe she’s hoping to duplicate the success of Republican Claudine Schneider, who managed to defeat incumbent Dem. Congressman Edward Beard in 1980.
Did he smell like poo ?
Or Ron Machtley when he beat Fernand St. Germain in 1988 in RI-01. But quite a bit has changed in federal elections in the state since 1980 or 1988 (or even 1992, the last time that Machtley was reelected).
I wish her luck.
Fast Freddie lost largely because he was perceived as a crook who helped precipitate the S&L crisis (and by an embarrassing 56-44% margin). In the case of Cicilline, I’ve noted he has had a difficult time in making the district his own, winning by unimpressive margins, each of his 3 opponents got over 40% against him (contrasted with the infamous Paddy Kennedy, who was racking up almost 70% in his last races).
Amazing we got both RI seats back from ‘89-’90 of all years.
