So you won’t support him when he’s the nominee?
I will support any nominee of the Republican Party. It will be an unmitigated disaster for the United States if another Democrat becomes President and solidifies their control of Federal regulatory agencies and the judiciary. It is incredibly frustrating that the Republican Party has not been able to develop a consensus leader to take the lead and rally the American people. IMHO Cruz is simply not electable. Trump has a shady personal and professional past. Yet if he is the nominee while he will lose some Republican voters , he has been attracting huge numbers of Democrats and Independents and strangely enough more minority voters than any Republican in recent memory. His flawed and the MSM, the Left and other vested interests will do all they can to defeat him. They may succeed. However, there just isn’t any other Republican on the horizon who in the end can put together the necessary coalition to defeat the Democrats/Socialists.
IF Ted gets the 1,237 delegates on the first vote I will support him.
If he is “installed” as the candidate after falling far short of 900, I will write Trump in and vote against every R on my ballot in the general election.
And if you think actively campaigning for a contested convention is “conservatism”, I am no longer a “conservative” in the neocon definition.
