A conservative doesn’t support Kelo and doesn’t try to use the gov’t to take an old lady’s house so he can build a casino parking garage.
A conservative doesn’t support Planned Parenthood.
A conservative understands the difference between a trade deficit and a balance of payments deficit.
A conservative understands that free trade is to first and foremost benefit *consumers* who must spend $ to put food on the table, a roof overhead and clothes on backs. Its up to workers to c-o-m-p-e-t-e.
A conservative doesn’t want to see continued growth of our imperial presidency.
A conservative doesn’t rail about immigration but use illegal Polish workers to build his signature NYC property.
A conservative understands that our fiscal profligacy stems from entitlement spending and not military spending.
A bright conservative president would work to limit Muslim immigration but NOT *say* anything about it.
A bright conservative president would work to expand the usage of E-Verify which, while not a panacea has done a pretty decent job in Arizona.
And this is exactly how we can sacrifice effectiveness to the enemy of a perfection that probably doesn’t even exist. Many of these objections are more sizzle than steak anyhow. Just to pick one of them, this is talking about the non-abortion wing of PP. To pick another one of them, he offered said lady an astronomical sum compared to what she ended up getting far later when she did want to sell. If this is the worst we can complain about the Donald then he looks set to be a shoo-in with almost no issues.
Trump is more conservative than Reagan.
Reagan supported:
-liberalization of abortion.
-amnesty of millions of illegal aliens and didnt close the border.
-the Brady bill against the 2nd amendment.
-the NAFTA free trade agreement.
Would this so-called bright conservative president have any more luck build consensus than he has in the senate? Would he accomplish anything? NO, but he would be perfect and right and basically worthless to the conservative cause.
