Cruz and Rubio most certainly cannot. Trump can be Don Rickles and Cruz/Rubio are Dan Quayle.

Trump can be Don Rickles and Cruz/Rubio are Dan Quayle.That is a GREAT analogy! They just came off as irritating, whereas Trump was bitingly humorous. I think in Trump's case, "It's funny because it's true" applies. With the also-rans, not so much.
