My first full time job was for $1.65/hour. It involved assembling parts for thermostats in a factory and I was a high school graduate. By the time I was laid off from a nuclear plant in 1993, my take home pay was around $50,000/yearly. (This last included over time pay). The difference involved a BA degree and a security clearance.

Please read the article. It may make a difference to you

Anyone and everyone complaining about Carrier and others moving jobs to Mexico who also supports or allows any form of government deficit spending, no matter what the funds are spent on, needs to STFU.

This is historically inaccurate. Tariffs used to fund the entire federal budget with no deficits. The income tax that the Free Traders seem to ignore is the real enemy. The income tax is a steady stream of income for socialist intervention allowing the gloBULList to off load and move elsewhere.

What an idiotic piece of clap trap. The idiot presumes the latest of tRumps various meandering positions have never occurred to anyone else. He has demosntrated that what he says is to win. Once he wins he’ll do whatever he wants, and probably not what he said. It’s how the Donald rolls.

To me this is all stunningly simple ....but I do tax accounting and before that I owned a construction business. That same area of construction is now under various government mandates to upgrade engines, control “toxic” substances and emissions, not to mention mandates regarding workforce diversity...etc. etc. The government has made something that wasn’t easy in the first place a whole lot harder.

This is why I appreciate Trump - he knows what it’s like where the rubber meets the road and he understands what needs to be changed to fix the overall problems.

Without getting this done we will just crumble.

I had a life long job in the automotive part business 30 years! Yet I don’t blame Carrier for moving to mexico, the blame lies with the tax code. If the tax code rewards this then it will happen, or if the tax code punishes success this will happen.
One need only look at the current tax code to understand what is going on, 74,608-page-long federal tax code. Only a army of tax attorneys can comprehend it, and who can afford that army, giant corporations.
There is a reason Warren Buffet is refusing to pay 4 billion dollar tax bill, he has that army at his command.
GE payed no tax in 2014, because of that army.
Where is your army when you fill out your taxes, yeah you don’t have one so you cower in fear of making a mistake!
Does Warren Buffet cower when the subpoena comes, absolutely not, he just calls up his troops and says, hold back the wolves!
Dump the tax code got to a flat tax and this all ends!

I don’t like Trump and he’s not the only candidate who will stop jobs from going to Mexico.

Did I mention that his intent to use tariffs to stem the tide of jobs going abroad is NOT the answer. That only sparks trade wars which we have no means of winning.

Well then, you must like losing your job to someone in Mexico who will make $3/hour.

So Trump is gonna help increase jobs for Americans? Then why is his own clothing line made in foreign countries?

Reagan Gets Bill Easing Abortion In California - Jun 14, 1967

June 14, 1967 The California Assembly passed and sent to Governor Reagan a bill easing the state’s abortion law, unchanged in 95 years.
Reagan said the bill was “by no means perfect” and would have to be watched closely to prevent California from becoming an abortion haven. But he said he would sign it despite his doubts about some possible “loopholes.”
“I am fully sympathetic with attempts to liberalize the outdated abortion law now on the law books of California,” the freshman governor said....
The bill...would permit abortions before the 20th week of pregnancy if:

-The prospective mother’s physical or mental health is in danger.

-The pregnancy resulted from incest or forcible rape, or statutory rape in the case of a girl 14 years old or younger.

The old law permits abortions only if the life of the prospective mother is endangered.

The US tried raising tariffs to discourage foreign imports a while ago. It was quite successful at reducing foreign imports. It also caused the Great Depression, killing far more US jobs than it saved. Look up Smoot Hawley. Even Wikipedia acknowledges it's role in the Great depression.

Want another Depression? Elect Trump. I know, I know. Trump will do it "smarter". We'll then have a Great "Smarter" Depression.

Union leaders at an air conditioner factory in Indianapolis threatened with losing 1,400 jobs to Mexico said on Tuesday the plants owner expects to pay Mexican workers $3 an hour compared to an average of more than $20 an hour for the U.S. workers.

When Perot was running for president, he displayed a photo of a Mexican Ford plant on one of his TV appearances. He asked, what's wrong with this picture?

Mr. Hawkeye couldn't find a thing until Perot pointed out the obvious - there were no parking lots. None were needed as the workers, unlike their American counterparts, couldn't afford to buy the product they made and were bused in from the barrios.

First question to Carrier should be "How many A/C units will Mexicans buy?

All these companies who flee overseas to "save money on payroll wages" expect everybody else to keep on earning their high pay so they can buy their products. In reality, they are laying off each others customers.

Reminds me of an old Civil War cartoon where the crew on a steamboat ran out of fuel and were feeding the boilers with wood from the hull to keep the boat moving.

“What drives this disparity and wage need? Let us remember that $3/hour is in fact roughly 50% more than the minimum wage was when I started working. In other words, not a terrible wage. Now it’s less than half of the minimum wage.”

IMO, what they failed to lay-out was the SIZE of govt between those two periods. I’d bet at LEAST a factor of 10x.

While the borrowing and deficit do play a role, it’s the oppression of govt rules/regs/agencies/compliance/OSHA/EPA/etc. that is the true ‘killer’ (especially when you consider in 1950 a SINGLE bread-winner could: buy a home, buy a car, buy a TV, have 2 kids, go on vacation, pay for college and still SAVE for retirement).
