You guys made me have to search for old Carter pictures, and his eyes don’t crinkle in most of them. Hmmmm
BTW... I was in elementary school when Carter ran for prez. Even as a kid, I knew that he would be terrible. I remember the ominous feeling I had when he won our class straw poll and even worse when he won the election. I knew it would be bad, and it was. Never understood why no one else could see it.
I come from a family of Yankees - my mom always said that Southern libs were worse than Northeastern libs. She hated Carter too.
I haven’t even read this article, but have always distinguished between smiling, grinning, smirking, etc. And, to me, Carter was always a grinner.
W definitely has an almost permanent smirk on his face.
And, to me, Cruz also has an odd smirk on his face, and I’ve always been sort of creeped by him even when he was my top candidate before Trump announced.
And then there is just a general expression on a person’s face when they are expressive no emotion at all. I think a person’s facial expression in repose tells something about them.
The old saying I posted earlier: By the time you’re forty, you have the face you deserve.
Same here -- the look on his face when he won sent cold chills down my spine, and I wasn't particularly political then. I got the same feeling when Francis was elected pope, btw. And that moment when Obama lifted his chin before going outside to his first inaguration sent me stomping out of the room.
