Rubio twisted Cruz out like a cigarette butt on the sidewalk. But I still think Cruz came in a high second place.

They want to wound Cruz and make him ineffective...

What??? They originally liked that Cruz was cutting into Trump's lead. The more disclosures and missteps there are, it's Cruz that's making Cruz ineffective.

Wow -- WHAT a great link!!!

Absolute proof that Ted won the debate. He obliterated Donald Trump, truly, with a smile. Just creamed him.

Donald Trump is a loser. He even got booed when he played the "I might elect Cruz as my VP" card, and Cruz absolutely wrapped it up with a ribbon at the end, thanking him for the offer of VP and saying I tell you what, I'll take you as my VP and if you end up right about this birther issue, You'll step in at the top, and will win!

It was incredibly brilliant. Cruz is something special.

I take it you haven't watched the 7 minute video in post #12. The whole thing, all the way through to the end.

Trump lost that exchange with such disastrous flair that it is classic television. It's almost like he did it on purpose to make Ted look good. Maybe there is something to the idea that they're working together.

And Cruz definitely had point at the very end, offering Trump the VP slot on his ticket -- grania and all the rest of you Trump supporters, if Trump is right about the birth issue and Ted is ineligible, then VP Trump automatically steps up into the presidency! Trump is such a great businessman -- why not take that deal?

Well, at least you got your screen name right. One of its definitions, anyway.

And the video in post #12 doesn’t change YOUR view? Sad, really.

Anyone would be "right" as long as their opinion matches yours, correct?

Because Trump is smart enough to know it’s not a winning ticket with Ted at the top with a CLOUD OVER HIS HEAD even though Trump can bring new voters. The Rats will sue. And have standing.

Doesn’t it go both ways?
Cruz is real.
DT not so much. He poured the koolaid.
It will be sorted out when the voting starts.

Did Trump ever say he WANTS Cruz to be ineligible? No. He said he wants eligibility established now, rather than have the dems bring it up later.

Contrast that to Rubio, who is going through procedures to definitively settle his eligibility. Interesting that this becomes a battle for Cruz and an issue to be settled for Rubio.

No, it doesn't go both ways. I will gladly vote for Cruz if he is the nominee, as I think most Trump supporters would.

Too bad you rabid, sanctimonious, holier than thou, purist don't feel the same way if Trump is the nominee.

And, btw, I was for Cruz before I was for Trump. I just don't think Cruz would survive the Clinton/DNC/MSM grinder.

I’m originally from NY. I moved to get out of that piece of hell. Ted Cruz was absolutely correct about NYC and once again some freepers are Trumpblinded.
Upstate New York’s tax base keeps NYC in business. Without them, NYC would implode with its Socialist agenda.
Trump used a left wing tactic to emote feelings for the victims. But his rebuttal had nothing at all with what Ted said.
When 911 happened America came together and donated hundreds of billions of dollars in cash and physical support for victims.
“Victims” in NYC still have cases in litigation because some feel they didn’t get enough. NY City is a blight on the state.

Depends on what resonates - most think half with their brains and half with their feelings. Those that stay with their brains see Cruz as the smartest and most logical. Those that engage the other half feel more attuned with Trump.

Gotta adapt the message for the audience - something Reagan did very very well and something that trump seems to have a better grasp on.

Cruz victory? Did you see Donald spank Ted for three full minutes about the new york thing

Are you talking about when Trump was waving the bloody shirt? That spanking? Such base tactics once were scorned and ridiculed.

Silliness.

Both Trump and Cruz did well, both made some incredibly good points, and both ate some humble pie.

I'm sorry, all the pretend nonsense that one of them won and one of them lost is stupid.

I read the Drudge poll, and a few others and this article is the worst kind of agitprop. Pretending something happened that didn't is the worst kind of delusion.

I think Cruz debated well, but Trump speaks from the heart. Rush said it yesterday and it is utterly true. He can’t be overcome because his story is real. Some of that story is pretty unappealing for a conservative like myself, but we take the good with the bad. Trump will win this going away. Cruz will earn respect and prosper from his skilled debate. But, he is not a winner in this fight.
