In my heart of hearts, I know Cruz cannot win the nomination. He won’t be able to withstand the media/GOPe/Dem onslaught. They’re going to point out all his enemies in Congress, etc. etc.
On top of that, and I really do like Cruz, he’s my 2nd choice, but he’s not that likable. Granted that shouldn’t be the criteria but we have to face facts,it is for many people.
It will be quite doable for the GOP to knock Cruz out if they’re able to unseat Trump. And going through Trump is the only way Cruz would be on top.

The GOPe gritted their teeth during Reagan's term. Bush 1 brought them in full bore.
They worked well with Clinton, Bush 2, and now Obama. These globalists will prosper
with either Bush 3 or the Clinton. All the other candidates are splitters to put Bush 3 in
(except Cruz, Paul, and of course Trump). If this fails, they support Clinton.
Trump is our only defense against these globalists. Cruz has baggage that will prevent
winning the general election, I believe. Trump is proving with each rally that he is
drawing support across the political spectrum, which will be the decisive factor for victory.
I believe we must frame the election as the most crucial one of our lifetime - the stakes
are do or die. Trump is that one-time only candidate, an absolute anomaly, whose wealth,
guts, charisma, and stance on the few but most important issues set him apart, and our
only hope against the globalists.
And I hope he chooses Cruz as VP.

With the people's disapproval rate of Congress at 86% (Gallup, Nov. 2015), the media will be helping Cruz.
