Trump is exact opposite of crony capitalism. ALL OTHER CANDIDATES without exception are in the pockets of their ultra rich donors. Why do you think Cruz supports FIVE FOLD expansion of cheap foreign workers on H1-B visa’s? Is it because he loves foreign workers or is it because his rich donors want those cheap workers to replace expensive American citizens? Why do you think NONE of the other candidates except Trump do not use the words “DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS”?

One need not be corrupt to be successful in America.

That is easily one of the most naive statement I have read on this Forum. All one has to do is read donor lists of prominent politicians.

Have you heard of courts?

Yeah. Do you know that Kelo refers to a 2005 decision of the U.S. the Supreme Court ?

That would be a good place for anyone who thinks their property should not be forced to sell.

They did, they lost because some one else could make more tax money for the state with it. And the court said that was a good enough reason to take their property.

Again people who have a morbid attachment to material things such as bricks & wood are not rational.

I have a morbid attachment to my home, my bricks and mortar, my private property. They are mine, my private property. The constitutions says I have a right to be morbidly attached to it. And government cannot take it from me just because Trump says he can develop a casino on it and give the state more taxes. Trump believes this is reason enought for the government to force me to leave my bricks and mortar, my home.

FRiend, do you really understand the conservative principle of limited government and individual rights?

Your posts indicate you do not, or you don't care, if it's in the way of someone else making a buck.

Donald Trump may well be your soul mate, one who agrees private property is just bricks and mortal that illogical folks get morbidly attached to as if it were their own private property.

Trump may agree with you on this, but on this issue, neither you nor he is conservative.

>>>"One need not be corrupt to be successful in America."

That is easily one of the most naive statement I have read on this Forum. All one has to do is read donor lists of prominent politicians.

Explain your logic here. Is every donor to every politician corrupt? Is every successful person who contributes to a prominent politician corrupt.? Is every prominent politician corrupt.

I have donated to prominent politicians. If I read your reply on its face, you are calling me corrupt. I don't think you're slandering me, but I think perhaps you believe an honest man cannot be successful in business or politics.

Again, this is what the far left wants us to believe: Everyone successful is corrupt.

And, therefore, it's ok if a businessman such as Trump is in bed with corrupt politicians.

No. Above all the leaders of our government, our elected leaders must posses honesty and integrity. This is not naive; this is pure honor and honesty; we cannot support those without integrity- not and be true to conservative principles.

Friend, you argument lack coherence. Line it out for me if can, a rough syllogism would suffice.

I'm far from naive. I've worked for four decades in politics and business. It takes great character to maintain integrity in the area where these spheres combine.

But do not poison the well to say *all* those successful in in business and politics are corrupt.

Because it is not true; and, because promulgating that lie furthers the liberal lie that you have to cheat to win, and all those that win cheat.

To put it more simply, your position is:

“You must be corrupt to be successful in America.”

If you think there is even a single politician who is a paragon of virtue, truth & honesty, I have a wonderful ocean front villa in Kansas I will sell you at half price.

Why any ultra rich person contributes to politicians? Why are the Koch brothers going to contribute and spend $889 million for the 2016 campaign? Think about that.

He said people who work as janitors and taxi drivers like him better than rich people do. Erick Erickson noted how all the janitors in Trumps building ran up to him to say hello when he walked into the building. He is a people person and likes to help others.

Even if we assume you’re right, and every high profile donor and politician are corrupt, how do you think we should solve that problem? Do you want to further limit campaign contributions (and if so, do you think it is Constitutional to do so)? Or do you think the answer is too just vote for self-funded candidates like Trump (and if so, how would it affect the country if public offices were filled exclusively, or almost exclusively, with wealthy people who could afford the massive cost of political campaigns)?

That was my favorite part. Makes him seem genuine to now be such a populist. Larry seemed to think a Republican couldn’t be a populist. What a disconnect in politics for such a long time.

If you REALLY want to eliminate corruption in politics, the only method is to eliminate all private contributions, and personal expenditures by rich candidates, including SuperPacs, unions, corporations. Each candidate should be given EQUAL amounts of money paid by $5 from every tax payer and welfare recipient.

That would be a true level playing field for all.
Any other method, and you have built in corruption.

Heck even his ex-wives still stand by him. Goes to show he is not a bitter and vindictive person. Like you said, Donald Trump has no haters among people he has crossed paths with in life. The only people who hate Trump are people who have never met him, or are supporters of Bush, Cruz and Rubio.

Hard to choose between false dichotomy and straw man in your argument at this point.

I haven't seen a cogent or effective rebuttal to the points I listed on why Trump is not a conservative. Not on Kelo/private property, universal government healthcare, support for corrupt politicians and other liberals, etc.

These are not the indications of a conservative politician.

Your rebuttals seem to be that you support Kelo (or don't know what it is) and that all politicians - businessmen as well - have to be corrupt to succeed.

There’s an interview of Trump on Oprah Winfrey Show in 1988 and his views sounded pretty much then as today
