Dead giveaway, I picked that up too.
The reason Obama insists on ISIL vs ISIS is that ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, whereas ISIL stands for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The Levant includes Israel.
They always called themselves ISIS until they dropped the second IS and became just Islamic State.
