I think you are being purposely dense.

You don't start a task by finishing the task.

You start the task by starting, and you complete the task by doing it. And then the task is done.

For example, do you see all sorts of injunctions stopping Obama's task? No, you don't. He's just doing it.

This phenomenon is very much akin to the messiah worship that we were perplexed about when Obama was the one who was receiving the adulation.
