Posts of the weekend.
I continue to hold on to the dream that Trump takes down Jeb and the gOpee backup candidates ... and then proceeds to inform the public that his candidacy was twofold: 1) take down the gOpee and 2) explain that voting on emotion for a celebrity candidate is not the path to take when electing a President of the greatest country on earth (Exhibit A: Barack 0bama). He then states that he is dropping out of the race in favor of the guy he has "hired" as the best person for the job ... Ted Cruz.
Interesting take...I think Trump has already landed a perhaps fatal blow to the establishment. He has certainly landed some bruising body blows that they'll not recover from. Only he could have done this.
I think he might have been okay with step 2 - until recently. He is a celebrity candidate, and much of his support is emotional and star struck - as many of his formerly conservative followers are willing to throw away principle on many issues for their emotional attachment to one issue and their (deserved) hatred of the GOP-e. It is amazing...there is the same type of projection, the same type of excuse making, etc, we saw in 07-08.
Let me clarify hastily that not all of his support is as described above, but surely a lot of it is.
