Really? When a person hits the national stage of politics and the lights of multi-media shine on them from angles they’ve never encountered, you see more than one Profile.

National resources of organized Labor and all of the usual suspects poured in at national levels in national amounts ($50 million on the midterm recall election alone). The John Doe investigation and its scope is also something you don't see in a normal statewide situation. Basically, he got more scrutiny and exposure than anything this side of Sarah Palin, much MORE THAN Romney, McCain or Dole.

So yes. Really.
