I felt some of the same feelings when I was out working for McCain and Romney
Fortunately no one ever asked me if I thought they would be good presidents so I never had to make the tough choice of do I lie to them or not.

As a Communist Bernie Sanders is a true modern Democrat. The Party is the American iteration of the old European Social Democrats who were/are Communists in everything but name. The Social Democrats of Russia produced the formal Communist Party of Lenin.
The Republican Party has become the Tories of English politics, utterly useless except that any real conservative is apt to come up through them. There have been precious few of those.
