Obama's citizenship hinges on whether or not he was born in the United States. Cruz's citizenship hinges on whether or not his mother was a U.S. citizen (and for how long) when she gave birth in Canada.
Another way to find out if Cruz’ mom was old enough to convey citizenship to Ted is to look at her and Rafael’s marriage certificate; it would have her age on it. If she was older than 19, then she conveyed u.s. citizenship to Ted.
