So what’s your point? Cruz is against illegals here being citizens, and future illegals.
My point is obvious.
Cruz wants to give Green Cards to illegals.
What's the difference between a Green Card and citizenship?
Almost nothing.
A Green Card legal resident can't vote or hold a job with a security clearance. That's it.
But, a Green Card makes you eligible for every form of state and federal welfare or subsidy. A Green Card also enables “Chain Migration,” so all your relatives can legally come to America and get Green Cards, too.
Cruz claims to oppose Chain Migration, but he has never introduced legislation to stop it. He has never gone to a Texas border town and publicly spoken against Chain Migration or anchor babies. In fact, Cruz has only been to a Texas border town three times since 2012, because he doesn't want to get publicly nailed down on supporting or opposing specific policies, like Green Cards.
The “no path to citizenship” issue is a completely bogus fallback position for every Republican who wants Amnesty.
From a legal point of view, it is very likely that the Federal Court system would reject a permanent “non-citizen” status for 12 million people.
Or, if the Courts do go along, then, before every election, there will be millions of “non-citizens” in the streets screaming “RACIST” at the Republican Party, and the politically terrified GOP will give them everything they want.
Max, I'm not clear on your personal immigration policy.
Are you indifferent to immigration?
Or, do you support massive LEGAL immigration, and huge increases in work visas, like Ted Cruz?
