Sarah scares them more then any other candidate.

they know her background is more aligned with the average person then other candidates. this is why they’ve attacked her nonstop.

they also want to make sure the first female president is a democrat

Basic English grammar requies that for a BEST to be bestowed, there must be at least three for comparison. Maybe the author was including themself in the anal-sis!
