When President Barack Obama speaks tonight during his State of the Union address, all Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will be hearing is actor Christopher Walkens iconic voice.
Asked by a reporter Tuesday whether he found anything to like in Obamas proposal to impose new fees on big banks, Politico reported that Cruz compared the presidents ideas to Walkens most famous Saturday Night Live sketch where the actor plays a music producer.
To every problem his solution was, more cowbell, more cowbell. This president, to every problem his solution is more taxes, more government,' Cruz said.
Hes not listening to the voters, but like Christopher Walkens [character] hes saying more cowbell, more cowbell.'
This is not the first time Cruz has compared Obama to a walking SNL skit.
Back in December, he slammed the presidents failed foreign policy decisions as Obama prepared to nominated his administrations fourth defense secretary.
You literally cannot make this stuff up. If Saturday Night Live were parodying a hapless, ineffective President, they couldnt make things up worse, Cruz said at that time.
Cruz also once famously mimicked Dana Carvey doing a George H.W. Bush Saturday Night Live skit on the Senate floor while fighting a campaign finance amendment he feared could put political speech at risk.

It’s way past time conservatives really went to the mat and NOW we GOT the guy in Ted Cruz...he’ll need a ton of active participants, tons of money and mostly the strength and prayers of people who DESPERATELY NEED A TRUE LEADER!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
