Why would you be upset with a certain public figure taking “advantage of gullible fans” just to make a buck? Are you against capitalism? What’s wrong with a capitalistic venture? If there’s no market for the capitalistic venture, it would fail.
It’s a leftist/Democratic talking point (”she’s a grifter”), used here by her enemies almost as much as the Tina Fey quote or the quitter label.
