Suburban Albany is not known for its rip-roaring weekend scene, but this most recent Saturday night, it was the momentary center of the political universe, as an underfunded political party was using its quadrennial convention to try to force Americas most powerful and best-financed governor to submit to its demands. Though the Working Families Partys conventions are typically low-key affairs, this one had drawn 800 activists and operatives and most of the New York press corpsall to see if the party would endorse conservative Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo or run a third-party candidate against him.
In the end, when the floor-fight drama died down, the boisterous crowd dispersed and all the #wfpconvention tweets subsided, the leaders of the once-obscure party insisted that their brinksmanship was successful, even if they stood down and backed the incumbent. It was a signal moment for the American left, and one that speaks to the progressive movements broader dilemma in this time of rising economic anxiety: Can change come from inside the Democratic Partydespite the feeling among many activists that Democrats are hopelessly compromised by their ties to corporate donors? Or will it only come from outside the two-party system, through the kind of robust third-party challenge that hasnt been seen in America for decades?
The answer may lie somewhere in between. The Working Families Partys ideological allies say the threat of a challenge to Cuomo compelled the governor to give the left-leaning party what it wanted....

I am all for a rebellion on the left, then they Democrats will be split, and it’ll be easier for us to win (Think Canada with the NDP (hard left) vs Liberals) or UK with (Labor - Socialst Left, and Liberal Democrats - liberal) or even Australia with their Greens (Hard Left vs Labor -Socialist Left).

Fed up with government gridlock but turned off by the attitudes, tactics and objectives they see in the tea party movement tens of thousands of Americans in cites all across the nation are investing themselves in a new American political movement: the coffee party.
The working families are a union outfit. They made some noise during our RTW fight in Michigan.
They are nothing but unions trying to hide behind a fake name.

#1) Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.
Power is derived from 2 main sources money and people.
Think Chamber of Commerce and the Demorat machine politics, trying to "help" Republicans win elections (??).
The reality is that real American patriots , and immigrants that have already waited in line to enter the country LEGALLY, are opposed to this contrived crisis !!
APPARENTLY soverignty exists only in foreign countries, like the UKRAINE ,
and is not appropriate for the United States.
More double-speak from the MASHMELLOW-IN-CHIEF !!
Thanks. Can’t have that right to work stuff. Freedom to join or not to join a union is sooo dangerous. It might even lead to more jobs. /s
