I can swim a mile (1750 yds) in 35 minutes ... not particularly fast, but respectable. I plod along like a diesel boat, loving every minute. I think an 18-mile walk would kick my butt!
Well, my stroll through the Boardwalk was leisurely. The ocean and the girls were to be viewed as God intended.
Spoke with a few others near the light house, Natural Bridges and at a restaurant, where I enjoyed some awesome lobster enchiladas.
Walked through the Boardwalk again. Beauties on the beach playing volleyball. Got distracted.
After passing through the boardwalk, stopped a burger joint I like. Had a couple fries and a diet coke, struck a brief conversation with a gal. Purdy.
Then trekked to Capitola Pier.
At the end of the pier I enjoyed another Diet Coke, with lemon and took in the expanse of Monterey Bay.
I thought to myself “What a great day!”
Walked into Capitola Village and at a restaurant stood patiently to inquire about a martini.
The two young ladies at the maitre de podium were talking about something and appeared to ignore me.
One turned after a minute and said she would be with me in a moment.
I told them to take their time.
They smiled and talked about something unimportant.
After a few minutes they asked how many in my party.
I asked where I could get a nice dry martini.
One of them escorted me to the bar and said I could order there or take one on the patio and she would be happy to bring it to me while I enjoyed the sunset.
Told her I would be on the deck. She said she would find me.
So I found a great seat next to the canal, which afforded an excellent view of the bay.
A few minutes later my drink arrived and the beautiful gal who had assisted me on the way in handed it to me.
I enjoyed my drink and the sunset.
Total time enjoying the day= 7 hours.
Miles were scored on my fitbit pedometer and my cell phone app.
