Like Rubio is wrong on Amnesty, but does anybody wish he hadn’t gotten support back when he ran against Charlie Crist? Because I’m thinking Crist would have gone democrat anyway, throwing that seat to the other party.

It’s arguable. The problem with a person like Rubio is that he gave nearly two dozen SPINELESS REPUBLICANS cover to vote for Amnesty, and stay on Karl Rove’s good side (i.e., get money from him).
Had Rubio not been there, Amnesty may well have passed the Senate, but it would have been a closer vote and easier to block in the House.
On the other hand, Rubio has been with us on just about everything else and NOW claims to be against the Senate Amnesty bill (I guess he found time to read it). The problem with Amnesty is that it is the end-game. Once passed, Republicans are essentially powerless for generations - so I have trouble forgiving anyone that is not strong on that issue.
