Cruz-Palin 2016: Seeking a Tea Party ticket (Article from 2013)
The Examiner ^ | October 16, 2013 | Dustin Koellhoffer

There are so many good conservatives in and running for office that could take America back from liberal socialists and moderate spend thrifts that it’s hard to know them all without excessive effort. Sens. Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Reps. Paul Ryan, and candidate Elizabeth Cheney are all known names, but somebody has something bad to say about everybody. Romney was equally conservative but allowed his name to be smeared by moderates led by Boehner in Congress who cost him the election by attacking conservatives.

Tea Party members need to stop being churlish when it comes to some of their candidates not being perfectly conservative in their eyes. Rubio helped write and voted for the immigrant bill and then spoke against it. Ryan endorsed moderates but remained staunchly conservative in pursuing a balanced budget. Even Palin supported McCain because he introduced her to the nation.

But there is enough of a battle to be fought against liberals who can vote in primaries in some states and choose the candidate they want to run against. They did this in at several senatorial elections where the Republicans candidate torpedoed their own campaigns...

Wow, Romney “equally conservative”.

Romney left the party because of Reagan and became a democrat supporter and fund raiser, he was against the Contract with America, and this is what he thought of Jesse Helms.

“I’m not a partisan politician. My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”

And gun owners.

“These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

And gays in the military.

“One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.”

Cruz 100% yes, Palin no. She already ran once and pretended to run a second time. Lets have some fresh blood, a million talented conservatives out there.

The biggest job a VP candidate has is to not outshine the first guy on the ticket. If Palin runs, the race will become about her and not about Cruz, and I want it to be about Cruz. Nothing wrong with her politics though, should run for Senate in a conservative state.

At any rate, this is purely academic since she clearly does not want to run again.

I see Cruz at the top of the ticket for 2016 but I see Sarah as Defense Secretary. I would like to see Sarah at the top of the ticket for 2024. She will be 62 years old then.

Well, that’s not true.

She ran knowing full well Juan McCain likely wouldn’t live out his first term.

She basically ran for

Good Girl and so hot.

Dig that folksy humor too.

Neither of the last two presidential candidates comes close to conservative.

Once again, the leftists define conservatives and it sticks.

Cruz 100% yes, Palin no.

Palin won’t be on any ticket if repubs are serious about winning.

The Republican Party hasn't been serious about winning the last two presidential elections. Why would you think anything would change this time around.

I was around from 1975-80 when they were saying the same thing about Governor Reagan. Remind me how that turned out...

I was there as well....if it was 1980 again...a Cruz -Palin ticket woud win easily....

...but it’s 2014 and the world has changed...

The democrats are not the democrats of the 80’s...they were misguided but not vicious like the progressive democrat wing of the marxist party today...

The media back then...for the most part was unfair to the conservative veiwpoint, but did let us speak.

Today the left has a lock on the media and every thing a conserative says is distorted to fit their agenda...

Cruz - Palin would not have a chance...

No matter who the repubs or the tea party runs against the demodummies, they had better brush up on the “illegal” voting resistance LONG before the election takes place. We all KNOW that this will have a significant, if not critical impact on who gets elected.
