I completely agree with you, that’s very much what happened last time. Maybe all these putative candidates (like Cruz, Paul, Walker, et al.) need to get together and pick one to run.
Pretty sure that would never happen in reality. One things these pols all have in common is abitiousness.
It would be kind of cool if in 2016 we “flipped the script” as Curtis Sliwa likes to say and ran some “bright young thing” while the Dems ran Mrs. Next-in-line Clinton.
Although now that I think about it that was kind of the situation in 2000 with W. v. Gore. Who else ran for the R. nomination that year? McCain, no?
I think closed primaries might also help. I don’t know why any party would have open primaries, I really don’t understand that. Do the dems do that or just the stupid Rs?
You mean Rand Paul and Walker who LOVE AMNESTY and Illegal aliens? NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fully agree. The GOP primaries in the early voting States have been swarmed by Dems who push the weaker candidates and ignore the better ones.
Reince P (or however his name is spelled), who heads the GOP thing, should quickly get approval to close the primaries and stop such Dem tactics. .....He should also push hard to stop allowing little Iowa (caucauses) and NE States to be the first voters in primaries. ....I’m fed up with the NE Yankees picking my candidates!!
Another thing... Change the laws regarding closing of the polls and the media disclosure of exit polling. The way it is now, there is little interest for the people in the PST zone to vote when the media has already shown how voters in the EST zone have voted. .......Change the voting hours so that they all close at the same time; regardless of the time zones. ...........Just some random thoughts.
