Former Rep. Ron Paul said the law enforcement that swarmed around Boston in the days following the marathon bombings was scarier than the actual terrorist attack.
The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city, he said on the Lew Rockwell website, Politico reported. This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself.
The terror attacks on April 15 in Boston killed three and injured 264.
Mr. Paul, a former libertarian political candidate who served in Congress as a member of the Republican Party, said the door-to-door searches police conducted in Watertown for the bombing suspects were particularly alarming.
They reminded of a military coup in a far off banana republic, he said....

You’re confused, I never claimed weapons were taken, that was another poster.
You claimed it was a “fact” that no weapons were taken. So were you just pulling ‘facts’ outta your backside in your blind attempts to support the out of control govt agents or do you really have “facts”.
LOL, you obviously do not understand logic nor argumentation and debate.
Your scenario changed nothing.
Whether you made the statement or piggy-backed on another person’s assertion is irrelevant.
The subject claim was that: Guns were taken from houses.
My counter was that: No guns were taken.
The subject claim has to be proven. Apparently you have no evidence to support this assertion.
You guys are full of paranoid fantasies with nothing to support it.
That's odd, I thought government effectively shut down the entire major city of Boston..
No?
So you have no facts. No surprise
Good gawd you are dense.
Repeating your presentation of faulty reasoning is the definition of insanity.
All of you RonPaul AlexJones types are the same.
And all you jack boot thugs are the same
I couldn’t be less of a RP fan but I’m with him on this one.
Why are you evading questions?
I’ll play it .....S L O W ..... for you wleak-minded conspiracy nuts.
Lil drift: “Mommy, Bobby stole my candy.”
Teacher: “Mrs. drift, nobody stole Lil drifts candy.””
LiL drift: “...prove he didn’t steal it...”
Lil drag: “yeah, prove Bobby didn’t steal it”
Teacher: , “ Mrs. drift....LiL drift has to prove Bobby stole the candy. He made the accusation.
Go to school. You have to prove guns were taken. It’s your fantasy delusions.
As an earlier poster said, now we know what their plan is.
He doesn’t have anything dragnet, which is why he resorts to insults and deflection.
He’s a perfect example of how some people will trade freedom for perceived safety and they’ll lick the boots while doing it.
I have a certain amount of skepticism when I see martial law in action. There were few videos available that record what the police did. I did see a video that had police confronting press cameras with hands actually going over the lens. So, there was control over any video account. The few videos available indicate enough to tell me the nature of the searches. They may be orderly in these videos, but it is what we didn’t see that has me concerned. I did find one video of a homeowner who said they were polite. In looking for more accounts from homeowners, I was amazed that there was nothing there in You Tube Land. They may have operated very polite, but the concern I have is, who knows how they will behave in the future?
Any reasonable person can only conclude that the process of removing people from their homes so they can be searched was extensive. We saw martial law where the Constitution was ignored.
Pauls comments are disgusting.
Reminds me of when he called the IDF soldiers defending their country “pirates.”
THanks 2ndDivisionVet.
“Go to school. You have to prove guns were taken. Its your fantasy delusions.”
We have a Constitution and Bill of Rights for a reason.
Massachusetts IS a socialist police state with a socialist governor and socialist anti-gun laws.
Allowing a law enforcement officer into your home anywhere without a warrant is ill-advised. If police have probable cause to believe that the SUSPECT is being concealed specifically in my home, that is a different matter.
The federal government has made it clear to many that gun owners, Christians, conservatives and constitutionalists are the “domestic enemy”. The fast and furious gun-running INSIDE JOB provided ample evidence that there are criminal sociopaths in positions of power willing to kill in order to destroy the 2A and the Constitution. In this environment, anyone who cares about limited constitutional government or the rule of law should stand their ground. Law enforcement has enough power as it is to catch suspects.
“We have a Constitution and Bill of Rights for a reason.”
This is true and thank God for that. However, your statement is irrelevant to the poster’s lack of logic in his argument.
“Allowing a law enforcement officer into your home anywhere without a warrant is ill-advised. If police have probable cause to believe that the SUSPECT is being concealed specifically in my home, that is a different matter.”
Easily said from the comfort of your home, while the people in Watertown, Mass. had a killer terrorist on the loose. The crux of your argument is fine as it pertains to you. But, since not one person protested the police search for the terrorist, did you ever consider the possibility that they realize THEY are NOT the focus of the search.
They realized that the police are there to rid them of a serious threat.
