Living within 50 miles of either coast can result in a loss of understanding.

Must be something in the water.

The thing about these guys is that their speech patterns show that they really do understand, they are just being duplicitous. For example, his statement:"I don't get the fear of registration, I don't get the, the concern about trafficking. Are we saying that we want criminals to, you know, make … back-alley sales out of the trunks of their cars?"

Note when the filler words get thrown in, it is when in speech the brain suffers a short disconnect due to an untruth or conflicting statement that forces the focus of the speaker into making a judgment about what they are saying. That is why people tend to extended length blink when they lie. They are disconnecting from their focus on who they are talking to, to the thoughts themselves. The Brain is interrupting them asking for a decision. That politician stated as one truth, two ideas that actually conflict in his own mind.

"I mean, I don't understand," she said.

Oh, she believes she understands, yet is saying that she does not. Again, the extra words to cover the time the brain flagged the conflict. If she really did feel that she did not understand, she simply would have said "I don't understand" with no delay in cadence caused by her brain conflict.

"It feels like we're protecting the rights of the paranoid about government, rather than, sort of, the reasonable [person]..."

The media guy is not as accomplished of a liar, his cover word choice "sort of" showed that in his brain, clearly he believes that it IS reasonable to be paranoid about government.

These people live in a world of untruth and stumble into truth only when they feel it betters their position. People like this think those who tell the truth are weak sheep that need liars like them to be their masters. In truth, theses "masters" are just weak minded psycopaths, unable to cope with reality. They substitute lies for what they cannot deal with personally.

What they do not know in their hearts is truth. That is because their lies are stated as truth so often when they speak that the brain gets quite confused.

When a statement is made, the brain classifies it by the judgment of the soul as to if it is truth or not. Brains are not capable of making moral judgments, and depend on the soul for that. When someone lies, they force the truth label on top of a lie, and the brain records the memory of the lie as truth. The subconscious "mind", the sum total balance of learned information ends up getting massively conflicted and fails to supply a effective background belief structure. This forces the soul to have to judge each and every thought instead of relying on the background understanding of the brain. It is also why liars end up believing their own lies.

That is why liars have to think fast while they speak. Their speech cadence is fast and staccato, and their eyes go too and fro while they speak. Their body is displaying what is going on in the "mind", a "think about this" and "what about that" constant background cross conflict resolution, while they simultaneously try to carry on a conversation, instead of the clear conviction of a soul at peace with the issue.
