I bought into the notion that working ‘within’ the GOP to push tea-party, conservative Constitutional reform was the way to go. I’m no longer tethered to that notion. The GOP-E, besides being so ossified and corrupt, is just too entrenched. It constantly sets up a scenario where the “tea-party conservative” is in a lose-lose situation, being stabbed in the front by the malicious Dem-media-complex, while the GOP-E colludes with them to stab you in the back. It’s a recipe for constant defeat. Better to confront both enemies head-on.
And the way things are now, judging from all the cavings and capitulations to Obama on just about every issue from fiscal cliffs to amnesty, we’ve already become a de-facto “one-party rule” country without a voice of opposition. It’s like there is no “opposition party” whatsoever anymore, watching the the Boehner/Rove GOP.
Precisely why we need to term limit the ba$tard$ out, insist that congress be subject to all the laws they pass and eliminate all congressional perks except those needed to perform their jobs.
