Aint Texas great. I have a timber/ag exemption on 20 acres down the street and pay $228 taxes. My house with the homestead exemption is less than 350. My daughter bought a forclosure up the block and will pay 835 but come May she’ll protest her taxes on the lower appraisal value, plus the homestead exemption.
Plus no city wage tax or state income tax. What is there not to love.
Texan by choice and loving it.

Just keep it conservative. Don't let the yankees bring their crap down here.

It seems the state comptroller decided that my county is a "rich" county, so we should pay more for the other counties. Robin Hood is alive and well in Texas.
