*Colin Powell went in on his own Republican Party during an interview on Meet the Press Sunday, calling out some former governors as using racist statements to describe President Obama and noting that there is a dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the party.
What do I mean by that?, he explained. What I mean by that is they still sort of look down on minorities.
Powell specifically pointed to October 2012 comments by former Alaska Gov. and Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin on the attacks in Benghazi, Libya.
When I see a former governor say that the president is shuckin and jivin thats a racial-era slave term, Powell said, referring to Palins words on Obamas response.
He also brought up another former governor who described President Obamas as lazy during his first 2012 presidential campaign debate with Mitt Romney. Powell told host David Gregory that the word may not mean anything to most Americans, but to those of us who are African Americans, the second word is shiftless and then theres a third word that goes along with it, when racists describe African Americans.
Powell added that Republicans had become too preoccupied with the candidate-selection process, losing sight of the groups overall message.
Youve got to think first about whats the party actually going to represent, Powell said. If its just going to represent the far right wing of the political spectrum, I think the party is in difficulty. Im a moderate, but Im still a Republican. [Watch below.]

Powell was the first African American to fill the role of Secretary Of State, serving under President George W. Bush from 2001-05. Despite maintaining his allegiance to the Republican Party, Powell has been an ardent supporter for President Barack Obama...

Racist Colin can GTH.
In my opinion, Powell has always been a snotty nosed leftist.
It’s scary to think Colin Powell was once a very powerful man in our military. He thinks calling any black person “lazy” is a sign of racism. I would expect that kind of jive-talking from Al Sharpton, but Colin Powell? Playing the race card and the victim card at the same time isn’t exactly courageous or intelligent. It’s LAZY!
I believe that is his destination - all of his own doing.
Good and he can go any time, as far as I’m concerned.
The only reason Powell doesn’t like Palin is because she looks better with balls than he does.
the white house may be grooming powell to run for president- they are teachjing him to blame everyoen else, and cry racism at the drop of a hat-
if the left keep screaming ‘RAcism’ and accusign hte right of racism, thsoe who aren’t rwacist just might becoem racist justy to live up to all the accusatiosn against htem- apaprently that’s what the left wants?
Powell was a pr!@k in Nam and nothing has changed.
When attempting to describe someone who doesn't work hard and whose skin color is black, what does the Powell Style Guide say is the preferred word to use?
Yes. He was also likely an AA hire/promotion in every position he has held since he was a Captain.
As the only white person in a family where her husband, her children, and her grandchild, are all tribal members, Governor Palin is the most incompetent racist that I have ever heard of.

Patriotic apparently,

FU Collin Powell. See, I once supported you. Even stupidly worked on getting you nominated for President. I now despise you. You know what, you racist piece of sh#t? Your skin color did not change between then and now. And neither did my complete disregard about your melanin content.
But you did. Or rather you came out of the closest as a statist scumbag.
Get it, Collon? Probably not, because you are — and probably always have been — a racist piece of sh#t. I am ashamed that I did not spot that far earlier.
But he fired the first shot of 2016 for the loony toons and now we know that Sarah STILL scares them to death. I expect more to follow.
