Romney was not the problem. He was, however representative and emblematic of, the problem. The Republcian Party is organized with the purpose of giving Nominations to deserving bobdoles of which it has a tremendous backlog. There is no ideology or principle beyond that.

You can run the most effective, efficient campaign on the planet, but if you fail to connect with a strong principled message from a candidate that the electorate is hungry for- you still lose.
