I really wish all of you who subscribe to TownHall Magazine would contact them and complain about what’s been going on over at HotAir.com lately; for those who don’t know, TownHall owns HotAir and pays the writers there VERY nice salaries to do what they do…which in the case of a few of them includes churning out fear porn. This is normally Allahpundit’s role at that site but today Jazz Shaw joined in, needlessly freaking people out with the article “This Thing May Not Be Over on 11/6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
This is madness. And it needs to stop.
First, I’ll tell you why it’s stupid to believe Jazz Shaw on this (starting with the fact that the guy’s name is “Jazz”) and then I’ll explain why I think HotAir and other sites plaster fear porn like this all over the place (hint: it’s to generate web traffic and make ad money…which leads to big bonuses for the fear porn peddlers).
The election will be decided on November 6th, 2012 and we will go to sleep very early that night knowing Mitt Romney is the 45th President of the United States. There is not going to be any recount and there will be no Florida-2000 level chaos. The reason I know this is because the Florida-2000 chaos permanently labeled Floridians as the people who decide our nation’s future through chaos and ineptitude. Floridians are still laughing stocks because of this and, most importantly, anyone associated with that Florida election mess is still seen as a buffoon in political circles. A lot of very nice people who were actually good at their jobs for many years are still mocked whenever they go to an event and are introduced as someone who worked elections in Florida in 2000...

If I had my way it wouldn’t be over till the 8th and I’d strip the media of their media holiday.
I’d have one day voting with no exit polling and no numbers reported till all voting was finished in Hawaii.

“Fear porn” or not there’s one thing that *nobody* here can deny...if this election is as close as many polls are predicting Osama Obama will throw 20,000 lawyers at each and every state where his margin of loss was 2 points or less.I predict that this election will make Florida 2000 look like a picnic in the park by comparison.And we’d be foolish to assume that the SCOTUS will be willing to “do the right thing” *this* time.
Mr. Kevin will be appologizing to Mr. Jazz on Nov. 7. This storm opens all kinds of voter scam games to Obama and he’ll use them all.
The polls are crap. This won’t be close. I predict at least 1980 type numbers if not greater.
On my cell, as the laptop is dead, working through timing out, slurping up my battery trying to open FR, refreshing countless times in the process, got to a ping after three minutes of refreshing and now finally got here.
I am so angry I could spit nails. So, now I’ve forgotten what the thread is about. Anyway, give it heck.
Maryland closing early voting for Monday ... ... knowing it’s over, the dems are about to start hacking at their own election so they can protest the hacks, and complain for years to come that it wouldn’t have been a 7 point outcome if ... if ... if ...
That said, the outcome is not going to be close.
As for this guy - Kevin - it’s time to just be a journalist/opinion guy, and stop announcing how gay you are in every article and bio, and calling things fear “porn.” It’s not that I don’t like gay people or porn. Like Mitt Romney and Big Bird, I think gayness and porn are great! In fact, I don’t care, so quit announcing it psuedo-implicitly, just like I don’t announce on every post that I kissed a girl last night. You’re not a hero ... you’re just a guy in media.
This is the mark of a guy who doesn’t think he can make it on his own so plays social contrarian. I trust some gay people and some people obsessed with porn. But, I don’t trust them if they do the equivalent of name-dropping it everywhere in an attempt to seem racy, hip and courageous.
I recommend not giving this guy any more of our attention, he’s not all there mentally and I suspect will (and probably has) lied for a story.
Seems to also have a tendency to pick fights with people and organizations more successful than he is ... merely trying to appear an equal. I do not trust this guy one bit.

I would not re-post nor send one of his opinions to a friend to support one of my points, is a more accurate way to put it, and sure, I could be wrong. I hope I am - if he’s honest, he’s had some good things to say.
My response was ad hominem, which barring any evidence, isn’t the way to go here or anywhere else - so thanks for pointing that out. I’ll leave it at that.
1. Popular/Electoral split is a possibility, so no reason why Hot Air can’t discuss it.
2. There’s no harm in warning Repubs not to be overconfident. It is always good to run like your a point or two behind.
I don’t visit hotair.com any more, because they require registration in order to comment, but they won’t open their registration. It’s no fun if you can’t join the conversation.
As for the “porn” label, that’s not a big thing. Search for “gun porn” and you’ll see high resolution images of guns. Search for “war porn” and you’ll see Taliban body parts flying. The word has a little different meaning when not used by itself.
