I disagree. Michelle Obama LOVES being first lady. She loves the title and, if you listen to her speeches, loves reminding us she is the first lady. If Obama wins the election she will love it even more—she can take vacations when she wants, she can cut back on her military family and obesity causes (what’s the point—she doesn’t have to worry about another election), and live the good life until they leave in 2017 and then really hit pay dirt with more book profits, speaking fees, corporate board seats, etc. and setting their daughters up with a life of luxury. She stands to lose a lot financially if they lose this election. Plus, how could she live with the idea she’s a loser ala Barbara Bush and Rosalynn Carter? I don’t see it.
Plus, Malia just started high school. What a nightmare, moving and starting over at a new school. No parent would want that to happen.
Oh baloney! I attended four high schools in four years. Went from Wichita Falls, TX, to Tokyo, Japan (two different schools while in Japan), and then to a little, out-of-the-way town in upstate PA. Nightmare? Not hardly. Adventuresome? Indeed! Survived just fine.
We are such a pompous, pampered people anymore, to even think that having to switch high schools mid-term would be a nightmare. Tell that to all the kids who grew up/are growing up now in a military family. IMHO, it made us stronger, tougher, resilient, and...well, I could go on. Suffice to say that I would have no sympathy whatsoever if little Miss Malia had to move from her pampered life in WDC to another pampered life in HI.
